Work is over

Yeah thats the company i've been slogging for the past 4months. And I realized that i havent updated for damn long. Anyway, today is the 4th month anniversary of my ord...time is really fast once u're out... And today also marks a diff sort of 'ord'..i've officially finished work. It was a strange feeling leaving work today...after all, despite all the shit and rubbish demands of the job, the pple who work there are really v nice, and maybe perhaps its a bit sad that i wont be around there anymore. I've learnt some stuff during my time there..such as wheres good to eat in tanjong pagar! Will prob miss the food there, the queuing... But time to move on! Half the year has gone by alr.

There were some funny and memorable moments....

- there was this woman who called in the aft, and by then i was alr quite tired and pissed off at the number of calls coming in, so of cos my hearing wasnt exactly at my normal level. I couldnt really hear her very well, and when she tried to tell me her name, i couldnt really grasp it...but i distinctly thought i heard 'elephant'. Now that cant be true right? But then as i said, i was alr quite sian, so i just said to her: " Huh?? Elephant?! Spelt as E-L-E-P-H-A-N-T?" Turns out her name was...ALLISON....

- This company deals with ships and containers. A ship can only take a certain amount of containers and a certain weight. There was this vessel that was damn full and heavy..this was the convo.

Me : "I'm really sorry but i really cant give u any space on this vessel.. i'm alr over weight. Really over weight"
Customer reply: "Haha, U are overweight ah? Then go slimming centre la"

Me: .................

- This company prob has the honor of having the worst pantry in town. It doesnt have any snacks...only a coffee-making machine and several kettles of water. I usually take just plain water from the kettle and always from this particular one. It seemed to me to be the hottest since it had some metallic thing below it and had a plug connected to the wall. But apparently on my last week (after more than 3months), i was told that the kettle there is reserved for boiling water and the water was straight from the tap.... The auntie was laughing and asking me why i didnt know how to go take water from the other kettles that alr had boiled water.....

- And of cos the many stupid qns that customers ask. For eg, after sending an email, they will straight away call u up and ask if it has been received. Another eg, after telling this guy what time the vessel will arrive (10-30pm), he asked..so its at night? (of cos la...if not what does pm stand for? past midnight maybe...so then technically it will be morning...)

- This was outside work..during lunch. There was this long queue for nasi lemak...but when it came to my turn, guess what..the uncle told me - 'no more rice'........

- The 'tissue' culture of reserving tables is really true and strong....i witnessed it first hand...for 4months...so next time pls remb to bring tissue boxes, packets, toilet paper or whatever to the hawker centres in cbd...
