Mid Autumn Festival

Today is the mid autumn festival, or otherwise known as moon cake festival. Seriously I see moon cakes literally everywhere nowadays! From shopping centres to people carrying them in the trains and buses, at home and even in camp. In fact the sun in the morning looks just like the yoke in the mooncake too! Its supposed to be a full moon today i think but all I see is haze... Its so hazy everywhere and considering my floor level, it aint too healthy. This festival ought to be renamed Haze festival, it certainly doesnt feel like autumn. One characteristic of this festival is that of the playing of lanterns, both the traditional paper made ones and the new plastic electronic ones. I must say that this practice is not only fun (i used to play but no i dont anymore..) but its essential and vital in this hazy night today. Frankly I wont be surprised if I see people outside and in particular delivery personnel using such lanterns to guide them in this haze tonight.
Mooncakes are nice to eat, and I must say that if they really do taste like this, perhaps the moon isnt such a bad place to live in after all. At home, as in previous years, I dont even need to buy any and we will still get lots of them free. Haha must be grateful and thankful for this. In fact, last night my aunt dropped by my place to give us a set of Raffles Hotel's mooncakes. It was nice but with so much mooncakes at home, I just hope that all the mooncakes wont be wasted and thrown away in the end. Hope everyone has a happy hazy mid autumn mooncake festival.
