Reflection

This has gotta be the busiest week in the Church calendar. 4 consecutive days, not to mention 2 services on Fri. To some, this would have been a nice long weekend, but for some others, this is a period that demands total commitment and dedication.

We visited the Carmelites' Chapel on Thurs, and Brother shared some very enlightening points with us. He met a Filipino who had left the church as he did not feel belonged. In Philippines, many churches are often so full that many are left standing outside, and these pple are often clueless about whats going on inside. This guy was one eg. Brother's reply to this guy was this. If there's a big party going on at a house or zouk or something, and u are left standing outside, surely u will want to be with the people inside? In other words, why not put in the extra effort to be early so as to enter?

He gave another eg of how some priests leave spore to serve in 3rd world countires. While this is good, the reason they leave (due to disagreements with the bishop) is ridiculous according to him. After all, when they took their vow of obedience, surely it didnt come with a clause that excludes inability to work with the bishop?

One thing he always stresses: Commitment or dedication is giving when one doesnt feel like it or when one's will is tested. Indeed we must be fools for sacrificing so much....and whats more, get free servings of scoldings too...But thats faith..it keeps us going on...

Always remb and be conscious of the Holy Eucharist. Whenever you are in need, it will be there for you. Just go and seek it. Lord, strengthen my unbelief.

I felt i learnt something impt today and thats why i pen it down here, to ensure that i wont forget, and also to share. I hope this serves as a reflection for any reading this, but kindly pardon the horrible style of writing.
