Lately i've started reading TIME again. I think the last time i read something of this sophisticated lvl was prob back in cj..nowadays i'm mainly exposed to the english standards of the warrants. Anyway in it, i came across an interesting article...
Do you actually know what influences our decisions on what and how much to eat? Well apparently this guy at somewhere called Cornell uni did some sort of experiment and it had some interesting findings..
You'll eat/drink more if
- The serving plate is cleared often ( of eg bones)
- Math figures state that a particular meal is healthy. This is good, however, you end up underestimating the calories inside, which in turn causes you to eat snacks to fill up. (eg subway)
- The food comes in a variety of diff colours, thereby giving mulitple choices. You will eat more as you will crave the variety. (eg M & Ms)
- Flowers at the table will make a person eat more.
- You use a bigger spoon or plate. Size matters.
- You use a short, wide glass instead of a tall skinny one.
(apparently even pros have prob with this when pouring alcoholic shots..)
Quite cool huh? Now those of you who wanna diet..you know what to avoid doing..
